Announcing a Campaign for "Willow Lake Recreational Field"
It's time to update & upgrade Willow Lake's football field!
Willow Lake Area Advancement is pleased to announce a campaign for "Willow Lake Recreational Field," which will improve the existing football field and enhance its use with options for soccer, a walking track, better restroom facilities, and more!

The existing football field will be turned 180 degrees, to a north/south orientation.

The field surface will be professionally leveled and improved, making it safer for our student-athletes.

Long-needed parking space will be added along the east side of the field.

New LED lighting will be added to the field and surrounding area, improving player safety and enhancing the view of evening games.

A crushed-asphalt walking track will be added around the field, creating a practice space for students and a safe walking space for the community.

A concession stand & modern bathrooms will be added to better serve players & visitors.
FAQs:
Why do we need to make these changes since Willow Lake only gets to host one high school football game each season?
It is true that Willow Lake currently hosts only our Willow Lake Homecoming football game here on our home turf, and all other games are held in Clark. This is due to the less-than-adequate condition of our football field. If we wish to have a chance to host additional varsity games on our home field, there is no question that we must make improvements to our facility.
What about football games for younger players?
Our football field does indeed get used by many, many younger players! Our Willow Lake field regularly hosts elementary flag football games, junior high jamborees, and junior varsity games. These improvements to our football field will greatly benefit the safety of these younger players, and will expand Willow Lake's ability to host even more football games in the future.
In addition to football, why has soccer been mentioned?
With little to no additional expense, Willow Lake's football field could also be used for other recreation, such as soccer. Those who have joined our community from Spanish-speaking cultures have an interest in soccer from their home countries. When not being used for football games, this recreational field could be used by many members of our community for a variety of different outdoor games.
What will the walking track be like?
We are planning a crushed-asphalt walking track around the football field, to be available for community members as a safe, level place to walk for exercise. It could also be used by student-athletes as a warm-up or light exercise track.

In addition to these community members, this project is being supported by Willow Lake Area Advancement and its board.
