Kids ages 12 and under and their families are invited to dance under the Willow Lake prom decorations on Saturday, April 6 -- the day after the WLHS prom. The event debuted last year thanks to the Prairie Star Lutheran Parish youth group and is back this year by popular demand!
The event will start at 2pm with coffee & refreshments open to the community, similar to the "Senior Citizens Tea" that had been a Willow Lake tradition in decades past.
At 3:00pm, registration opens for kids and their adult "dates" -- moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or whomever they'd like to bring for a fun, family-friendly experience.
The "grand march" of kids and their dates will take place at 3:30pm. This is open to the public if you'd like to come and see how good everyone cleans up!
The music will play and the dance will go on 'til 5pm. Kids are free, and their adult dates are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. More details can be found on the "Family Fun Dance" Facebook event page.
RSVP to Jody Peterson at 881-3039. Forms were sent home with children in the Willow Lake school.
Freewill donations are appreciated for the Senior Citizen Tea and for public viewing of the Grand March. All proceeds go to the Prairie Star Lutheran Parish youth and their mission work with the St. Francis House and on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
